Art Historian, Esoteric Scholar, and Artist
Kate Channer
Kate Channer holds a Master's degree in Western Esotericism from the Universiteit van Amsterdam. With an interest in the mystical intersections between art, esotericism, and occultism, her background has fueled her writing and perspective, allowing exploration and celebration in the alternative dimensions of art that have frequently been written out of the art history canon (especially when it comes to women artists). Her aim is to give more space to these artists.
With special interest given to the study of Mediumistic art, Surrealism, modern art, and altered states of consciousness, Kate’s research topics also encompass outsider art – artworks created beyond the boundaries of mainstream culture, often made by excluded or fringe, self-taught artists. Kate is a painter and has been working as an editor, writer, and poet.
