Emma Jones

Emma Jones is a UK-based writer whose published work includes reviews, criticism, and essays, often focusing on photography. In 2023, she served as the lead writer for the photography festival Peckham 24. Her recent or forthcoming writings include an experimental essay in Photomonitor, exhibition reviews for Source magazine, and an introductory essay for Alice Connew's photobook Joyriders. She holds an MA in Writing from Royal Holloway and has won selective residencies in the UK and abroad.

Before freelancing, Emma was Curatorial Assistant (Photography) at Tate Modern, where she curated displays by Graciela Iturbide (2019), Ernest Cole (2020), and Šejla Kamerić (2022). In 2019, she was part of the team behind the successful Dora Maar retrospective. Her current research focuses on how modern and contemporary British artists visualise their relationships to particular locations.les
